Candace FitzGerald, President
Candace FitzGerald has nearly 20 years of experience in public relations and marketing communications. During her career she held senior positions at industry-leading agencies including ModemMedia, FitzGerald Communications and Version 2.0 Communications where she cultivated an expertise in Internet technology and consumer PR. In addition to working with countless emerging companies, Candace gained extensive experience in helping established brands such as ABSOLUT, iQVC and the New York Times to development and implement successful communications strategies.

Candace has been riding hunters and jumpers since she was a child. She has shown in the Equitation, Amateur Hunters and Children’s/Adult Jumper divisions. She rode for the Colby-Sawyer College equestrian team and was a member of the team when the College won the National Championship Cartier Cup in 1989. After graduation, she was invited to return to an assistant coaching positioning with the College. She began fox hunting in college and continued the sport as a member of the Norfolk Hunt Club in Dover, Massachusetts.

The Dobbin Group is the result of Candace’s long held wish to combine her PR and marketing expertise with her passion for horses.

Sara Smith, Account Coordinator
For more than five years, Sara held the position of Assistant Trainer/Assistant Manager at Horton’s Farm where she worked closely with veteran horseman Joe Forest on training young horses, sale horses and horses sent to the farm for performance-related rehabilitation. She briefly left the horse business to focus on corporate recruiting at AIRS, Inc. Most recently Sara was Manager at Swept Away Farm where she was responsible for the day-to-day care of several show and sale horses. At Swept Away she frequently worked alongside respected trainers including Ruth Poulsen and Ron Zohar.

Sara graduated from Colby-Sawyer College and was a member of their nationally recognized Intercollegiate Equestrian Team. She has competed in the Hunter & Jumper Divisions, as well as in Dressage. She is currently bringing along her 4-year old Belgian Warmblood gelding, Galileo, and focusing on Dressage.

Sara’s management experience and client service skills make her a great asset to the Dobbin Group team.
